MBAs working in the UK receive second highest average annual salary

London, 20/10/11

MBAs working in the UK receive the second highest average MBA salaries in Western European countries, the latest TopMBA.com Jobs and Salary Trends Report 2011/12 reveals today.

The survey of 2,140 MBA employers from 42 different countries found that MBAs employed by UK multinational employers receive an average annual salary of $99,300. This puts it in second place behind Switzerland ($122,300).

Nunzio Quacquarelli author of the report and director of the QS World MBA Tour says: “In the 12 months up until June 2011, MBA salaries increased by nearly 10%. This is likely to be driven by the high number of multinational companies in the region which actively target MBAs. ”

Quacquarelli adds: “Looking ahead at 2012, the impact of the euro zone debt crisis may cause a temporary slowdown in MBA hiring in the second half of the year. However, the medium term fundamentals for growth in MBA hiring across Europe remain strong.”

The report reveals upcoming trends in MBA employment around the world. In-depth analysis by Nunzio Quacquarelli also identifies upcoming industries for business professionals looking for a career change by taking an MBA. The report comes at a time where some of the best business schools ranked by the Financial Times arrive in London to meet and recruit potential students to their MBA programmes at the QS World MBA Tour and QS TopMBA Connect 1-2-1 events. Both events will take place in London on 29th October.
